TXMMA Tournament Season Recap – 2013 F2W/WGC Texas State Championship

TxStChamp2013GEORGETOWN, TX, April 4, 2013 – The fourth annual F2W/WGC Texas State Championship took place at Georgetown High School right outside the Texas Capitol City of Austin this past on March 30th.

All in all 608 total competitors from around the state to vie for the coveted title of state champion and the competition was fierce with team prize money on the line for the squads that could put on the best showing.

In the end Gracie Barra ran away with the $1,500 cash prize with 117 total points. AFC/Solis Martial Arts and Champions Factory came in placing second and third respectively after the dust settled on the full day of action.

As for individual highlights, just some of the absolute winners included Kendrick Chavez (Enlightened Warriors) and Roberto Jimenez (Alliance) winning the teen absolutes while Frisco Deleon (Sub Grappling) and Damon Morgan (Unified Jiu-Jitsu) won the Men’s advanced open divisions. Andera Keller (Genesis) and Paulina Granados (American Revolution) chimed in with wins in the women’s divisions as well.
