Billed as a five-year celebration of sorts for the Raul Ramos-led organization, STFC 24 will feature four title fights pitting some of the south region’s most established talents for some very legit bragging rights on this one.
The main event of the evening features current middleweight champ and 2012 TXMMA KO of the Year contender Frank Trevino taking on Joseph Daily while the co-main event features another STFC champ in Danny Salinas taking on the fast-rising Carlos Diego Ferreira in a welterweight clash.
As far as pre-fight posturing and words go, STFC 24 is certainly living up to its moniker of Bad Blood.
“To be honest I really don’t feel Frank has fought anyone of my skill level,” said Daily about this fight. “I’ll guarantee this fight is his biggest fight to date, but on the other hand he’s also my biggest fight as well. So nobody miss this fight cuz [sic] I think it’s gonna be a long war.”
Seeing Daily’s post on Facebook, Frank responded with his own thoughts, paraphrased below.
“Joseph Patrick Daily, please bro. Will Florentino (was) better than you. Corey Bellino is also better than you. And predictable? (responding to another poster) Wow I guess if I’m so predictable why don’t they ever block it? Please. You forgot people that have whipped you. I have yet to taste defeat and trust me bro you don’t have the skill or the power. You think because you have gotten better that I haven’t? I’m growing in this sport every day. I’ve got a purple belt. What are you, still a white or a blue? Your wrestling isn’t going to help you. Just keep training. You are going to need it.”
The conversation went on and on from there (linked above) but let’s just conclude there’s no love lost in this one as both guys want to prove their premier status as top fighters coming out of the RGV region.
As for the Ferriera vs. Salinas fight, there’s a little less back-and-forth as far as that goes but that doesn’t mean both these guys aren’t taking the fight as seriously as humanly possible.
It’s high-stakes for both with a lot hanging in the balance including Ferreira’s undefeated record. He’s currently 5-0 and has finished every fight by submission minus a decision win over fellow STFC 24 fighter and current training partner Joseph Daily. Meanwhile Salinas is a solid 10-4 but has won 3 out of his last 4 minus a KO loss to Legacy vet Mike Bronzoulis this past May at UWF 3. With a title on the line here, both guys should save all their statements for the 22nd of February.
STFC 24 also includes several other notable fights so far including Corpus Christi black belt Hector Munoz taking on Danny Lloyd and Joey Montiel taking on Elias “Smash” Garcia.
