Legacy Fighting Championship 10 Set for February – Eric “Big Head” Davila and other Vets Coming to Houston

HOUSTON, TX, December 23, 2011 – Just announced tonight on Sports 790’s Legacy Power Hour are a few matchups for the next Legacy FC card scheduled for HDNet. The card is entitled  HDNet’s Legacy Fighting Championship 10 is scheduled to broadcast LIVE from Houston’s Arena Theater on the HDNet network on February 24, 2012.

Legacy Promoter Mick Maynard mentioned ten fights so far for the card and it should be another interesting one with a mix of longtime Houston MMA veterans and fighters from other regions coming in to challenge the local fighters. At the top of that heap is a welterweight matchup featuring Mike “The Greek” Bronzoulis taking on West Texas legend Eric “Big Head” Davila. Bronzoulis fought just this past weekend at Legacy FC 9, losing in the main event to current champ Jorge “Macaco” Patino. Not one to rest on his laurels, the 2011 TXMMA Ironman of the Year candidate will look to bounce right back against DaVila, a fellow Shark Fights veteran who’s long sought respect on the national scene. Fighting out of Lubbock’s “Big Head” Gym, Eric has beaten the likes of Brock Larson, Alex Cisne, Anselmo Martinez, and more but he’s also coming off his own loss at UWF 1 against Dave Menne. One of these guys is definitely going to rebound in February. The question now is whether that fighter will be Houston’s “Greek” in his own backyard or Eric “Big Head” Davila in his first-ever Legacy appearance.

Also set to appear on this card are a pair of younger brothers to noteworthy fighters in Carson Beebe (brother of WEC-vet Chase Beebe) and Chidi Njokuani (brother of UFC fighter Anthony Njokuani).

Carson Beebe will be entering Legacy fresh off what many consider to be an upset loss to Johnny Bedford to get into The Ultimate Fighter house last season. He’ll be looking to erase that memory against Tim “The Terminator” Snyder, who’s looking to rebound from his own loss to Douglas Frey in Dallas at the Universal Fight Game premier. Meanwhile, the knockout artist Njokuani will be looking to make a splash at Legacy versus another knockout artist in recent winner Jonathan “Hulk” Harris.

As for the rest of the card, it features several interesting matchups already with Maynard mentioning more on the way as the card gets finalized. At the top of the current deck are two hot young Houston prospects in “The Chosen One” Angel Huerta and Justin Reiswerg. Both guys are fighting out of town opponents with Huerta returning from recent bouts with injury against DFW native Mike Sierra and the rising Reiswerg facing undoubtedly his biggest challenge yet in UFC veteran and owner of an “Awesomely awesome” nickname in Pat Audinwood.

Below is the card as it stands at present. More on HDNet’s Legacy Fighting Championship 10 here on TXMMA.com as it develops.
