Octagon MMA’s big bruiser returns in title matchup; other local DFW prospects highlighted at XKO 30

13087037_793488660781767_3564179661993473070_oDALLAS, TX – This weekend in Texas MMA we focus on North Texas, with the Xtreme Knockout promotion putting on its latest professional MMA event. This time around XKO 30 is slated to feature 8 bouts of action with the main event pitting Octagon MMA’s Rashad Coulter against Allen Nelson II for the XKO light heavyweight title. It’s a fan-friendly matchup featuring two strikers so don’t expect this one to go to the judges.

“I feel great,” said Rashad Coulter to TXMMA when talking about the fight. “My weight is on point and I feel more ready for this fight than any other before. It’s a great matchup (with Nelson). He likes to stand and throw, as do I. I’m feeling like this will be a first rounder, I have to win and I have to win in a big way.”

With a win streak going on three now with two TKO’s thus far, Coulter will be looking for a third come Saturday night. Meanwhile, Nelson has also won two in a row and doesn’t expect to be anybody’s stepping stone.

Looking at the rest of the XKO 30 fight card, a few notables stand out.

21 year old Joshua Mosquea is one of them. He’s won his first two as a pro, both by first round finish. He’ll be taking on his stiffest challenge yet in seasoned pro Eliasar Rodriguez.

Also looking to resume his winning ways here in the lonestar state, Team Lutter’s Kevin Holland will face another longtime pro in Will Florentino. “Trailblazer” Holland had been one of the prospects to watch for most of last year but took two L’s in some super tough fights vs. Ramil Mustapayev and Rafael Lovato Jr. Nobody will ever accuse this guy of taking easy fights. With that being said, Florentino has also been historically tough but has lost 5 out of his last 6 so this might be Holland’s opportunity to capitalize and build some momentum.

Women’s MMA will also have its time to shine at XKO 30 with Cassandra (KC) Spatz making her pro debut against Shana Gobson while Dominique Gonzales does the same as she takes on fellow pro debut fighter Julie Cancelloni-Toledo.

Check out the complete slate for XKO 30 below:
