Joe Maupin defends middleweight belt; Anthony wins in co-main event
SAN ANTONIO, TX – Premiere Combat Group put on their latest amateur MMA event last weekend at Cowboys Dance Hall. Officially their 22nd event, Cowboys Extreme Cagefighting 22 featured 2 title fights on top of a total ten bouts on the fight card.
In the main event of the evening, San Marcos based Joe Maupin defeated Joe Castaneda by first round TKO to retain his middleweight title despite an errant and early low blow. Castaneda fought valiantly but in the end, Maupin was just too big and too strong for Joe to withstand his assault.
In the co-main event, Battle Tactics’ Anthony Ivy was able to defeat Jason Laubach-Lents by TKO as well to win his own title in PCG”s lightweight division.
Additional highlights included Dominique Gallagher-Gonzales defeating Stephanie Adams-Hawkins by unanimous decision in the lone female fight of the night along with Roy Sarabia and Rodney Edgar both scoring submission wins to open up the night of action.
