Gracie Barra wins team title at 2014 Austin Classic
AUSTIN, TX – It was a solid team win to close out the year for Gracie Barra in Austin this past weekend. The team took part in the American Grappling Federation’s 2014 Austin Classic amidst 65 overall teams and won the overall team title by a comfortable margin, besting second place by 75 points and scoring almost double the total of the third place team.
Roughly 200 competitors overall showed up to the Premier Athletic Complex in Leander for this event. The 2014 Austin Classic drew some notables like Austin-based brown belt Jose Portillo and DFW’s own Levi Mowles. Others competing included Garrett “The Deaf Grappler” Scott, Alex Rodriguez, Blake Dvorak and a host of others.
