Xtreme Knockout 23 Preview – Women’s MMA headlines event

Amber Stautzenberger Grimsley headlines XKO 23 fight card

 

ARLINGTON, TX – Xtreme Knockout (XKO) returns with their latest professional MMA show at XKO Arena on October 18th. As the longest running pro MMA show in the North Dallas area, XKO has long delivered a platform for the area’s up-and-coming fighters to shine and XKO 23 will be no different with 13 fights planned for the event.

Headlining the card is hometown favorite Amber Stautzenberger Grimsley out of Mohler MMA. She’ll be facing off with fellow DFW based fighter Alice Yauger in the main event. Also on the card is Amber’s husband Tristan Grimsley who’ll be taking on former STFC champion Javier Obregon.

115LBS AMBER STAUTZENBERGER GRIMSLEY (4-3, Mohler MMA) vs. ALICE YAUGER (1-2, Texas Fighting Syndicate) 

XKO veteran Amber Stautzenberger will take on the talented TFS fighter Alice Yager in one of the most anticipated female bouts to be made in the sport of MMA and will be featured at XKO 23. Bringing with her a wealth of talent and some extreme vicious ground and pound mixed with submissions, Stautzenberger will take on the heavy hands and superb boxing skills of Yauger. It’s the proverbial grappler vs. striker match up that should leave fans on their feet in excitement.

140lbs TRISTAN GRIMSLEY (5-4 Mohler MMA) vs JAVIER OBREGON (7-9 Phalanx MMA)

Tristan Grimsley is no stranger to Xtreme Knockout fighting some of the top 135ers in the company. This is a special moment for XKO and Tristan because he will also fight alongside his new wife Amber Stautzenberger. Both Tristan and Amber have been in the fight scene for years but this will be the first time they are able to fight on the same fight card in front of their home crowd. Tristan will be fighting Javier Obregon. Javier is a very talented fighter returning to the square cage after his recent loss to XKO Champion Chris Pecero. Looking to get his first win in XKO Javier will come prepared and ready! This fight could easily end up being fight of the night.

HEAVYWEIGHT RASHAD COULTER (3-1, Octagon MMA) vs. ALEX MADRID (3-2 Phalanx Powerhouse/Texas Black Belt Academy)

In a battle of heavyweights that is all but guaranteed to deliver explosions, Dallas’ Rashad Coulter will trade leather with Fort Worth’s Alex Madrid. Coulter’s tremendous athletic ability and thunderous Muay Thai will be pitted against the heavy hands of Madrid, who also happens to have a superb jiu-jitsu ground game. Expect these two fighters to give it all in the XKO cage in a fight that is sure to bring the crowd to their feet.

170LBS RAZAK ALHASSAN (2-0, Team Takedown) vs. KEVIN HOLLAND (Debut, Travis Lutter)

Team Takedown’s newest prospect Razak Alhassan in 170 lbs. of pure unadulterated fighter. Possessing an awe-inspiring blend of speed and power, Al Hassan has dazzled fight fans in his brief professional MMA career. Looking to stop the hype-train of Alhassan is Kevin Holland. Holland is no slouch in the fighting department having enjoyed success as an amateur fighter in various promotions within the state. Blessed with range, heart, and some of the best submissions this side of the Mississippi, Holland is ready and able to pin the first loss to AlHassan’s record.

135LBS MARK DELAROSA (1-0, Team Takedown) vs. JIRAH TORRES-UMI (1-1, Relentless MMA/Travis Lutter)

Two fighters with tremendous talent and upside will collide in this bout. Highly touted prospect Mark Delarosa, a member of the Team Takedown stable of talented fighters, will look to showcase his exceptional grappling skills against Hawaii’s Jirah Torres-Umi. A fighter with a tremendous amateur pedigree and the heart of a warrior, Torres-Umi will look to upset the apple cart in Delarosa’s own backyard.

180LBS TIM STEPHENSON (0-2 THY GYM/SILVA BJJ) vs. RAMON JACKSON (0-2)

A battle of two fighters eager to notch a win highlights this intriguing matchup. Both Stephenson and Jackson are tough, hard-nosed fighters who will not back down to any opponent. Those both fighters are coming off of losses, to expect anything less than a hard-fought war would be foolish.

145LBS JAIME ANAYA (1-2, Cobra BJJ) vs. FERNANDO SALAS (1-0, Soul fighters BJJ/Siam Star Muay Thai)

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu vs. Muay Thai is the name of the game in this interesting bantamweight fight. Training with some of the premier grapplers in the Metroplex, Anaya’s BJJ credentials cannot be understated. Standing across from him in the cage will be Fernando Salas, a fighter who hits like truck behind some inspiring Muay Thai kickboxing. Expect fireworks in this match up.

125LBS STEVEN NGO (Pro Debut, Soul fighters BJJ/Siam Star Muay Thai) vs. AUSTIN BROUSSARD (Pro Debut, Next Generation)

Extremely popular amateur fighter Steven Ngo will make his anticipated professional debut at XKO 23. The talented fighter who has some of the fastest strikes in the sport will take on Next Generation’s Austin Broussard. Training in a crucible of jiu-jitsu excellence at Next Generation, Broussard is equally ready to enter into the pro ranks as a fighter. Striker vs. grappler? This fight may answer the age old question.

125LBS ISAIAH GUTIERREZ (1-0, Travis Lutter) vs. MICHAEL BRASHER (Pro Debut, San Antonio)

Isaiah Gutierrez’s professional debut back at XKO 22 showcased a fighter hungry to inflict pain upon his opponent. The Travis Lutter trained fighter demonstrated a whirlwind of strikes and submission attempts which resonated with all the fans in attendance. In Michael Brasher, Gutierrez will face as tough an opponent as one can expect. A submission specialist who compiled a sterling 5-0 amateur record, Brasher is a fighter who brings it each and every fight. This fight will be an all-out war.

160lbs ALEX MUNOZ (Team Takedown Debut) vs JOSE REYNA (Ft worth, TX Debut)

Whenever you get two fighters both making their pro debut you usually see fireworks. Over the years we have seen multiple fighters have outstanding amateur records ready to make their pro debut in XKO. Turning pro is a big step for fighters and a make it or break it type of fight. They usually don’t last all 3 rounds with excitement from beginning until the end. Alex coming from Team Takedown will have the skill set ready for anything. He is taking on Jose Reyna a good striker out of Ft. Worth, TX. This will be a good one.

125lbs PHAT CHAU (Next Generation 1-1 pro) vs KEETON GORTON Chop Shop 1-0 pro)

Next Generation has always brought their A game every XKO event! Every fighter comes ready and prepared for anything that may happen. Next Generation’s Phat Chau made his XKO debut in Dallas this past summer, we saw an amazing display of talent and a fun fighter to watch. He takes on Chop Shops Keeton Gorton! Keeton is another local fighter with the skill set to make this fight “fight of the night”. Don’t blink because both of the fighters are fast.

170lbs EUGENE DAVIS (Mohers MMA 1-0 pro) vs TIM ROMAN (Chop Shop MMA 1-1 pro)

Both fighters are 1-0 inside the square cage! Eugene will show a great display of heart and striking in this fight. He takes on another fighter from Chop Shop Tim Roman. Tim has proven he has what it takes to compete at the pro level. He has a great camp and an excellent coach. This fight could go either way but keep a close eye on the fighters because we definitely will see more of them in the future.
