Searching for the top youth competitors on the planet once again; Kids to put it all on the line in this Saturday’s invitational

10269614_655922031129595_3644171782464993762_nBEDFORD, TX – The Battle 4 the Ages World No-Gi Championships is almost here! BFA’s main goal is to highlight the top youth grapplers in the planet through their unique invitational format and their latest event with focuses on the submission grappling side of things with some of the best from Texas and the surrounding regions all set to compete at the Oasis Community Worship Center this Saturday, September 20th.

As usual, this edition of Battle 4 the Ages will consist of 8 top competitors per age division. Differing from traditional BJJ tournament formats, BFA does not feature weight classes. There is also no grouping by rank or training time. It is simply divided by age in order to answer the question of “who is the best kid at this age, in the nation?” Any child can be nominated for the event but merit in terms of past competition records and activity as considered most heavily in order to narrow it down to the top 8 in each division.

Past BFA World Champions have included Roberto Jimenez, Austin Kells, Kayla Deleon, Austin & Damon Oranday, and Andy Cordova just to name a few. Some of these kids also double as medal winners on the IBJJF major circuit and some of them are returning for this, BFA’s fourth event and 2nd No Gi event.

Here are a few of the past champions set to compete this Saturday:

  • Kayla DeLeon – Team Revolution  3X BFA CHAMPION
  • Roberto Jimenez – Alliance Jiu Jitsu   3X BFA CHAMPION
  • Lee Roy Gutierrez– Soul Fighters SA  2X BFA CHAMPION
  • Dillinger Kovach – Genesis Jiu Jitsu  2XBFA CHAMPION

As usual you can view the schedule of events along with LIVE stream information via the event website at http://www.battle4theages.com.

TXMMA will also be on hand to capture images from the event via Mike Calimbas Photography as well so look forward to a conclusive recap of all the action immediately following the event!
