Jammal Emmers impresses with slam KO; Brandon Farran deals Ryan Spann his first pro loss

MCALLEN, TX – Hero FC featherweight champion Jammal Emmers continued his ascent up the ranks this past Saturday, September 12th at Hero FC Best of the Best III. The San Antonio based Emmers wasted no time in the main event of the evening, quickly closing the distance between him and Michael Rodriguez before executing a picture perfect slam that left his opponent unconscious and defeated. Rodriguez dropped to 4-4 after this one while Jammal moves to an impressive 7-1 as a pro after winning his sixth bout in a row.

Also impressing in title action at Hero FC Best of the Best III was Abilene’s Brandon Farran. A longtime vet who debuted way back in 2007, Farran would take on Ryan Spann, a 23 year old prospect who’s been on a tear starting his career off at 5-0. With 7 inches of height on his opponent, the 6’5” Spann had range on his side but it wasn’t enough as Brandon quickly closed the distance with strikes, dropping Spann with an overhand right. From there the West Texas wasted no time in closing on his win, officially winning the bout along with the Hero FC middleweight title in under 30 seconds. The bout marked Brandon’s 5th win in 6 bouts as he moves to 12-8 overall.

As for the rest of Hero FC Best of the Best III, there was no shortage of action there either with 5 of the remaining 6 bouts ending by first round finish. Highlighting the action was Team Ohana’s 21 year old prospect Alexander Hernandez. He won his fourth as a pro over Martin Walker to bring his overall record to 4-1 after going undefeated as an amateur.

Check out complete results for the rest of the action below:
