Katherine Roy takes PCG strawweight title in convincing main event win

SAN ANTONIO, TX, August 27, 2014 – This past weekend was a pivotal one for the Premiere Combat Group promotion as it crowned its first ever female 115 lbs. champion. Competing for the title in the CEC 19 main event were Central Texas natives Katherine Roy (New Braunfels) and Fatima Mallett (Luling). That bout concluded with a five round decision in favor of Roy. She controlled much of the bout both standing and on the ground to win her first amateur title.

As for the rest of the highlights at CEC 19, they included Christopher Hinojosa delivering some serious GNP towards the end of round 1 that had his opponent reeled. After being helped to his corner, Eric Leo was unable to answer the bell for the second round to give Hinojosa the TKO win.

Also impressive was Steven Esquivel who showed some serious punching power, finishing Juan Ontiveros by TKO less than a minute into the second round of their bout.

The first bout of the evening between Kaleb Petereit and Keith Parsons was also an entertaining three round affair with plenty of back-and-forth action before Kaleb was able to pull away towards the end of the bout.
