Katherine Roy vs. Fatima Mallett headline CEC 19 fight card at Cowboys Dance Hall

SAN ANTONIO, TX, August 19, 2014 – Premiere Combat Group returns with their latest event this Saturday, August 23rd at Cowboys Dance Hall. With the tagline “It’s Personal” Cowboys Extreme Cage Fighting 19 is bound to have some hotly-contested fights, most notably in the main event of the evening featuring two of Central Texas’ most popular female fighters who will be competing for the highly-coveted PCG 115 lbs. championship belt.

First up, Katherine Roy steps into the cage to challenge for the belt following her win over Dominique Gonzales this past May. Fighting out of New Braunfels and training out of Warrior’s Edge alongside pros like Billy Buch, the 29 year old Kat has spent her entire MMA career thus far fighting for PCG. So far she’s posted a 2-1 record and has only lost to Sabrina Garcia, a current 2-0 pro who went undefeated as an amateur. Katherine could be well on her own way as well should she win in this one.

As for her opponent, “Ferocious” Fatima Mallett is looking to be nobody’s stepping stone and should be motivated headed into this one after suffering a loss in her last bout, to Roxanne Ceasear in the Belts of Honorius promotion. Be that as it may, the 27 year old remains a very formidable title contender with 3 wins out of 4 to start her career.

Stylistically Katherine Roy vs. Fatima Mallett should present a main event with ‘Fight of the Night’ potential written all over it. Both ladies compete the same way which is to say they are both tenacious aggressive combatants who refuse to take a step back. The conclusion of this bout will be based on who can inflict their will on the other and it should be very interesting to watch it unfold. One thing is for sure though and that is the winner will leave with the belt in tow.

The rest of the card for Cowboys Extreme Cage Fighting 19 should be exciting as well. It is filled with up-and-coming prospects including Joe Castaneda and Rodrigo Martinez who face off in the co-main event with matching 3-1 records heading into the event. San Antonio area fight fans can expect to see upwards of 10 fights total for the event.
