Joe Maupin submits Chad Box to win title in PCG main event; Peter Caballero always wins belt

10256248_710219465686926_8357683014930494976_nSAN ANTONIO, TX, June 30, 2014 – It was a good night this past Friday in the Alamo City with Premiere Combat Group (PCG) returning for their latest event at Cowboys Dance Hall. The June 27th show came the night before UFC Fight Night 44, giving San Antonio fight fans an entire weekend’s dose of MMA. As usual, Gruene Harley-Davidson was in the house with several of their hogs on display while UFC fighter Jessica Eye and several other top pros hung around and signed autographs for the die-hard fans. All in all, definitely a good time.

As for the fights there were several highlights. Joe Maupin and Chad Box fought for the middleweight title. It was a highly anticipated matchup that ended up being more one-sided than expected with the San Marcos based Maupin pulling off the victory and winning the title.

Likewise Peter Caballero won over Sam Garcia for the second time in his career to take home the featherweight title.

In other PCG news Warriors Edge and Pete Spratt both had successful evenings with their fighters all performing well. Fight of the Night winner Katherine Roy (along w/ Dominique Gonzales) capitalized on her award by using her trophy as a beer mug for the rest of the evening. KO/TKO of the Night winner David Miramontes did no such thing but still took home the honor while the aforementioned Joe Maupin took home Submission of the Night.

Check out quick results, photos, and the complete event video with all the night’s fights below!
