Gracie Grappling Cup begins 2014 tournament season in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The Gracie Grappling Cup returns to the Factory of Champions this past Saturday March 29th for their first event of 2014. Altogether about 220 competitors from 20+ teams showed up to partake in the action and there was lots of it. The only thing missing from this GGC was the presence of Relson Gracie. The BJJ Grandmaster is usually a mainstay at these tournaments but he celebrated his birthday the day before. His team represented well in his place with Relson Gracie schools earning first place in both the kids and adult categories.

“We want to thank everybody for their support and hard work they put in getting ready for this tournament,” said tournament organizers Josh Lauber and Michael Campos. They lauded the competitors for their great sportsmanship and praised all who had the courage to step onto the mats. They also followed up to let everyone know to expect the next Gracie Grappling Cup in Fall 2014.

Kids Team Champions

Third – Gracie Barra (28)

Adult Team Champions

First – Relson Gracie (35 pts)

Second – Pinnacle Martial Arts (20 points)

Third – Gracie Barra (18 pts)
