Prospects to Watch: Steven Peterson and others return on Legacy Fighting Championship 28 undercard
That’s not all either as the Legacy Fighting Championship 28 undercard (untelevised) also features some exciting matchups that should make it easier to buy a ticket and catch this show live and in person. This includes current XKO champion Steven Peterson making his return to Legacy FC in the top bout of the undercard along with some other up-and-coming prospects that should be worth watching as they look to make their way up the rankings.

Legacy Fighting Championship 28 – Undercard Preview and Predictions
135 lbs.: Raynaldo “Torito” Rodriguez (4-3) vs. Steven “Ocho” Peterson (8-4)
Steven “Ocho” Peterson returns to the Legacy FC cage after defending his Xtreme Knockout title in his last bout vs. Nelson Salas at XKO 19. That fight so a much improved (and disciplined) performance from Peterson and it should be really interesting to see what other gains he’s made after almost a year of work with Sayif Saud at Octagon MMA. He’ll be facing another veteran opponent in Ray Rodriguez. Stylistically Peterson is the more well-rounded of the two on paper. He doesn’t mind striking and can also catch submissions from everywhere while Ray is more of a striker who grapples when he has to. He does have KO power and has submitted a BJJ black belt in Jean Dalua Cartagena previously so he’s not to be underestimated. Peterson has only been knocked out once and we don’t see Rey as being the second guy to do it. Too many tools going Steven’s way to pick against him in this one.
Prediction: Steven Peterson over Reynaldo Rodriguez by submission.
145 lbs.: James Polodna (1-1) vs. Nikon “Kronphet Janjira” Poowichai (0-0)
This could prove to be one of the more exciting fights on the undercard between Australian James “Thunder” Polodna and Muay Thai stylist Nikon Poowichai, AKA “Kronphet Janjira.” From everything we hear both fighters like to strike so this should be a fan friendly affair. When it comes down to it this one is a tough fight to call but we’ll go with the Nikon FTW.
Prediction: Nikon Poowichai over James Polodna by TKO.
185 lbs.: Jason Perrotta (0-0) vs. Bobby Moore (0-1)
Bobby Moore comes to LFC 28 looking for his first pro win after debuting with a loss to Evan Thompson way back at LFC 16. Meanwhile Jason Perrota looks to make his own debut at LFC 28 and will want to make an impact in his first fight with the org. Who wins? We have absolutely no idea. Not enough body of work from either fighter to make anything about a guess but we’ll go with Bobby going in.
Prediction: Bobby Moore over Jason Perrotta by TKO.
170 lbs.: Victor Reyna (3-1) vs. Lior Shporen (0-1)
Speaking of fighters making their way back after a long layoff, Lior Shporen is another one looking to his way back successfully after losing to Sean Holden way back in August 2012. He’ll be taking on Fort Worth native Victor Reyna in his next fight back. A hard hiter, Victor has won 3 out 4 impressively since debuting as a pro. Training out of Saekson Janjira’s camp, Lior hits hard too and likes to stand so this one should be interesting. Will ring rust be a factor? That remains to be seen but we’ve got to go with the fighter posting the better record on paper going in.
Prediction: Victor Reyna over Lior Shporen by decision.
170 lbs.: Melvin Jordan (2-1) vs. Sean Holden (2-0)
After almost 2 years off, Sean Holden finally returns for his third pro bout against Melvin Jordan. Although we don’t see Melvin as a pushover by any means, Sean has to be the prohibitive favorite in this fight simply because of how well-rounded he is. He’s serviceable standing up and a workhorse taking the fight to the ground and working from there. Melvin does have a fighting chance if he keeps it standing but that might prove to be a tall order in this one.
Prediction: Sean Holden over Melvin Jordan by TKO.
155 lbs.: Derek Perkins (1-2) vs. Logan Nail (0-0)
Admittedly I don’t know too much about Logan Nail. Maybe not surprisingly so considering he’s a pro debut fighter who’s coming up after two wins in the amateurs, both outside of Texas. As for Derek Perkins we’ve seen a little more of him but not enough to know for sure what type of fighter he is. What we will bet, however is that this one will be mostly contested on the feet. Like we said, we’ve never seen Logan so we’ll give Derek Perkins the benefit of the doubt here.
Prediction: Derek Perkins over Logan Nail by decision.
