Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’ the latest event to break into DFW fight scene

FORT WORTH, TX, January 6, 2014 – A new entrant onto the Lone Star State’s professional MMA promotional scene hosts their inaugural event later this month with Triple A MMA bringing their fourth event to Fort Worth. Scheduled for the Cowtown Coliseum Stockyards Rodeo on Thursday, January 16th, Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’ will become the first of what the Albuquerque, New Mexico based group hopes to be many events here in the state of Texas.

With the event scheduled for an increasingly growing MMA market in the DFW area, Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’ brought forth an added opportunity for fighters from the area to gain fights. This event was scheduled to feature Johny Hendricks’ Team Takedown teammate Chas Skelly taking on New Mexico based Richard Villa before Skelly had to withdraw due to injury. Triple A C.O.O. J.R. Rodriguez stated, “We were disappointed to hear of Skelly’s injury, but as we all know training injuries like this are quite common in the fight game, especially at the elite level. We wish Skelly a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in action! We hope to see him face off with Villa in the Triple A MMA arena in the very near future.”

Despite Skelly’s absence, the card is still supposed to feature a noteworthy main event with Bellator Fight Master Reality Show finalist Mike “The Greek” Bronzoulis reemerging on the Texas fight scene against an opponent TBD.  He was supposed to fight Saekson Janjira pupil Charles Byrd but we’ve recently learned that fight will not be happening. Now speculation is that he will be fighting Team Takeover’s Brandon Farran but no confirmation on that yet. Either way whether it’s Farran or someone else, it would definitely be a boon to the show if they can line somebody up to face “The Greek.”

As for the rest of the Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’ fight card, it features a few other fighters worth keeping an eye on as well. That list includes 25 year old Matthew Hunt, a DFW-based fighter who was on a three fight win streak prior to dropping a decision to Brian Castillo at Rocktagon 28 last July. Taking the rest of the year to regroup, he could be in the early stages of a comeback run as he takes on New Mexico based Javier Palacios in the night’s co-main event.

Also scheduled for Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’ is TXMMA Women’s Fight of the Year People’s Choice winner Halleigh Haak as she takes on Lynae Lovato and BJJ black belt Marc Ayub who takes on Richard Bailey.
