Complete results, photos and fight video from BOH 3 Nov. 23 in Austin

AUSTIN, TX, November 25, 2013 – Nael Chavez and his Enlightened Warriors crew were back this past weekend hosting yet another successful Belts of Honorius amateur MMA event in Austin, TX. Taking place at a new location (South Austin Gym) and also featuring the matchmaking debut of fighter-turned-matchmaker River Fuller, the Belts of Honorius 3 (BOH 3) event featured 10 fights in total and some very exciting ones at that.

In the main event of the evening Garrett “Deaf Grappler” Scott was able to win the Belts of Honorius 155 lbs. belt dedicated to Enlightened Warrior youth program member Freddy Zamora who sadly passed away from cancer way too early. His memory now lives on with the Belts of Honorius promotion, including this time with Garrett’s win. Scott was able to earn the championship honor for Freddy by defeating opponent Jon Leal by TKO in the second round of their main event contest. With this win Garrett Scott now improves to 4-0 as an amateur while Jon Leal drops to 3-5.

1465230_10152024726139293_1366389961_nThe rest of the card included some other notable performances as well, included a spirited contest fought by women’s MMA reps Fatima Mallet and Kourtnie Goodman. Fighting out of San Antonio and Jacksonville, TX respectively, the two are the latest in line for what seems to be one of the fastest growing hotbeds for women’s MMA prospects in the state there in Central Texas. With women’s MMA starting to cement a reputation for always producing exciting fights, this one was no exception with Fatima Mallet edging the decision over Goodman in a gritty affair.

Other impressive winners on the card including Peyton Burns, Leroy Montoya, and Sean Clements who all won by TKO, and Christopher Hinojosa, Tommy Burghardt and Dezmond Moore who all won by submission.

Check out the quick results below.

The complete Belts of Honorius 3 event photo gallery is now available in high-resolution for prints and downloads with a gallery available on our TXMMA Facebook Page as well along with the slideshow below.

We also managed to catch some video of all the fights in question so catch them all in the playlist at the bottom of the page. See you guys next time!
