Amber Stautzenberger to face Lacey Schuckman in XKO 20 main event

DALLAS, TX, November 13, 2013 – Amber “The Apex Predator” Stautzenberger (Pro MMA, 3-1) is mixed martial artist competing in the strawweight division. Stautzenberger will be representing Mohler’s MMA on November 23rd when she meets Lacey Schuckman (Pro MMA, 9-6) in Arlington, Texas. Stautzenberger and Schuckman are scheduled to fight in the main event of Xtreme Knockout’s 20th show. Needless to say the DFW-based fighter is extremely excited about helping represent WMMA as the top-billed fight of the evening.

TXMMA caught up with “The Apex Predator” to discuss her upcoming fight with Lacey Schuckman. This is what she had to say:

XKO 20 Interview – Amber Stautzenberger (Mohler’s MMA)

TXMMA: What have you been up to since we last spoke with you?

AS: Just keeping busy training, working, and being with my family!

TXMMA: Who have you been training with to get ready for this fight?

AS: I’ve been training with quite a bit of girls this camp… Jinh Yu Frey, Karen Kovach, Jessica Miramontes, Montana Stewart, Sarah Boyd, Yoli Cervantes, and my new bud Adi to name a few. I even got some sparring in with Sabrina who is one of the other females on this fight card. And of course my fiancé, Tristan Grimsley, William “Rat Tail” Campuzano, Coach Mohler and Coach Joe Garcia.

TXMMA: What is your game plan?

AS: To win!

TXMMA: Is there anything that Lacey Shuckman brings to the table that worries you?

AS: No, she will be a tough and experienced fighter but I am prepared for her to bring it all the way. I trained hard this camp and I’m equipped to bring it on and be victorious!

TXMMA: What is the most likely scenario in which you see yourself winning and is there anyway you see yourself losing this fight?

AS: If I saw myself ever losing a fight I probably wouldn’t be a fighter at all. I do it because I know I can and will win. I see me finishing this fight.

TXMMA: I know that you’re taking things one fight at a time but lets assume you win this one, what’s next?

AS: Are you staying with XKO, are you moving up to Invicta, etc? I have a Title fight for DFC in early January against another Invicta vet. I’m sure both wins will open doors of opportunity for me.

TXMMA: This is your fourth fight of the year, are you planning on keeping such an active pace for 2014?

AS: Dang right I am! I like keeping busy and having momentum.

TXMMA: Between Jinh’s brutal KO win and Will signing with the UFC it seems like Mohler’s MMA can’t get enough headlines, who is the next big name out of that camp?

AS: Me of course! Jinh has made a name for herself with her vicious KO. I think that the ladies of Mohler MMA will make names for themselves and go far in their careers.

TXMMA: What makes coach Mohler such a successful coach?

AS: His Determination and his compassion. It took him 19 years or so to get this far and he will continue to grow as a coach, leader, business man, hero, and mentor. He’s one of the greatest men that I have met and it’s an honor to have him support me with my career and as a woman.

TXMMA: Who are your favorite training partners and why?

AS: The girls that I mentioned before. I have to say that Jinh works with me the most and I am proud to see her progress. I think great things will happen for her in the near future. The boys (Will [Campuzano] and Tristan [Grimsley]) help us run our all female sessions and we wouldn’t be as successful as we are without them! TXMMA: Is there anything else you’d like to add? Follow me on Twitter: @AmberStautz Thanks for the interview. I really admire your articles, Felix. You always sound intelligent and sincere. Also buy your tickets online at www.XtremeKnockout.com.

TXMMA: Do you have any sponsors you would like to thank?

AS: I want to thank Mohler MMA and the entire team there, Fitness Fight Factory, all the ladies and coaches I mentioned, Gamma Labs, www.mouthpieceguy.com, AmmoToGo.com, Cobrynol, Core Physical Medicine, Michelle Holcomb from Inova Richardson, M. King Construction, TUSSLE, Tested, and #IAmFritzFowler! I want to thank my manager at Cage Fighter 360 and Thanks to my coaches, family, friends, and fans that have supported me! Especially those who believe in me 100%.
