Gracie Barra Woodlands wins team title at AGF Houston Championships

HOUSTON, TX, September 15, 2013 – The American Grappling Federation made their latest stop to the Bayou City this past weekend with the AGF Houston Championships held this past Saturday, September 14th at the Competitive Edge Sports Complex in Spring.

AGF offers something unique with their tournaments in the sense that their GI divisions follow the IBJJF rule set while their No-Gi submission grappling divisions are modeled more closely towards ADCC rules, including points not counting until the second half of the match and a more liberal allowance when it comes to leg locks. All in all it’s a pretty cool setup, and offers a little something slightly different from the norm.

As for this past Saturday, everything went pretty smoothly with around 200 or so competitors all weighing in prior to their first match and the entire tournament finished by around 4pm. There were no major injuries and some excellent competition in both the youth and adult categories.

Check out the complete team results from the 2013 AGF Houston Championships below and click through for photos and select match videos from the event.
