Houston-based female MMA fighter Lauren Taylor remains undefeated with Invicta 6 Victory Over Sarah D’Alelio

HOUSTON, TX, July 15, 2013 – Though we believe she’s still making the transition of moving to Texas permanently from Panama City, FL, women’s bantamweight fighter Lauren Taylor is firmly fighting out of the Houston area and representing local area gym Gracie Barra Katy. As is such, she went out to Kansas City this past Saturday night and represented in style when she took on formidable Sarah D’Alelio at the Invicta 6: Coenen vs. Cyborg 2.

Coming in with an undefeated record and a big win over Kaitlin Young in her Invicta debut this past April, Lauren was in for another test in this one with “Monster” as her opponent is so aptly nicknamed.

D’Alelio would take the early lead in this fight working her jab against her wrestling/jiu-jitsu based opponent but Lauren would eventually take the fight to the ground twice in the first round but not without Sarah looking to make her pay with several submission attempts once there.

The second round was much of the same with D’Alelio the aggressor early with Lauren showing some patience before landing an excellent counter left look halfway through the round and then moving ahead on her own terms. Lauren Taylor would eventually score the takedown with a minute left to secure the round on the judges’ scorecards.

The final round was yet another close one with both fighters exchanging moments on the feet for the duration before the final frame came to a close. After some totaling of the scorecards Lauren Taylor was awarded the decision with scores of 30-27, 29-28, and 29-28 to remain undefeated at 7-0 overall and 2-0 in Invicta so far.

Below are the complete results from Invicta 6: Coenen vs. Cyborg 2.
