Up-and-coming fighters looking to prove themselves this Saturday at latest Houston MMA amateur event
The Legacy Amateur Series returns to the Houston Arena Theatre this Saturday with their latest offering, Legacy Amateur Series 12.
As the feeder league of sorts for area fighters looking to eventually make it to the pro level (read: Legacy Fighting Championship), you can always count on seeing up-and-coming hungry young fighter competing on these cards and this one is no different.
In the main event of the evening at Legacy Amateur Series 12, Chris Rivera of American Combative Systems will be facing Gold Team’s David Acosta for the right to be called the next Legacy Amateur flyweight champion.
Meanwhile, the ladies are front and center in the co-main event as Ashley Cannon (TFS) travels from the DFW area to face Sam Hoger’s latest prospect Colbey Northcutt – a fighter with a heavy traditional martial arts background who hopes to do one better that her brother Sage, who debuted with a loss on the last LAM card and is also looking to pick up a win at LAM 8 as well. The rest of the card features some notable up-and-comers as well.
There’s Aaron Reeves (Metro Fight Club) who makes his Legacy amateur return fresh off winning a title in Garcia Promotions’ Cage Combat show with a win over James Powell this past March.
Luis Lara (also from Metro) also returns for the first time since losing to Kolton Englund this past April.
Some other fighters worth keeping an eye on at Legacy Amateur Series 12 include relative a few relative newcomers with serious potential in GB Texas’ Isai Cabrera and Elite MMA’s Arthur Ashton and Zack Hunter along with the aforementioned Sage Northcutt who should be up for another exciting performance.
