HOUSTON, TX, October 24, 2012 – Grand Prix Grappling’s 2012 Battle of H-Town tournament took place last Saturday at the spacious Don Coleman Coliseum in West Houston.

We’re still awaiting the official winner of the $1,000 grand prize going to the overall team winner but several teams including Solis Martial Arts, Paradigm Training Center, Team Tooke, Texas Punishment Crew, and more all showed up to try their hand at winning the overall team title.

Results are forthcoming for individual divisions but several standouts in the adult brackets included Zion MMA’s Renan Chavez along with Reed Shelger and Evan Gideon of GFT / Paradigm. Also performing well in the purple belt division as Amit Ganju of Rilion Gracie Academy, Terrance Ferguson of Gracie Barra, and Jason Soliz of Texas Third Coast MMA.

As for the kids, Julie Rodriguez of Paul Thomas BJJ looked to be continuing her streak of dominance and seems to be on the rise as a definite prospect to watch out for.
