MINNEAPOLIS, MN, September 5, 2012 – The Ultimate Fighting Championship is back on free (cable) TV tonight with UFC on FX: Browne vs. Bigfoot taking place at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and broadcast LIVE across Facebook, FUEL TV, and the FX Network.

Of course the headlining fight for the aptly named event features a heavyweight clash between burgeoning contender Travis Browne and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva but the card features some other interesting bouts as well.

For starters, Jake Ellenberger returns in the co-main event looking to rebound from his first loss since 2009 by taking on returning veteran Jay Hieron – who was last seen competing here in Texas against Romario da Silva at Legacy FC 12.

Also, it’s been announced that the winner of the flyweight bout pitting John Dodson and Jussier da Silva against other will be next in line to challenge the recently crowned first-ever UFC Flyweight champion, Demetrious Johnson.

A welterweight bout between Josh Neer and Justin Edwards completes the main card on FX.

Elsewhere on the undercard portion of the card to be aired on FUEL TV, two fighters with strong Texas roots will be making an appearance with Yves Edwards and Carlo Prater both set to step into the octagon tonight.

Yves will be looking to rebound from a close decision loss to Tony Ferguson this past December by taking on Jeremy Stephens. With 2 losses in his last 3 fights, one would gather a lot will be riding on this fight for the native Bahamian but the same can be said of his opponent who has dropped 2 in a row so expect this one to potentially be one of the more exciting bouts of the evening.

As for Prater, he too will be looking for a win after dropping a decision to TJ Grant this past May on FUEL TV. He’ll be taking on 4x Division III wrestling All-American Marcus LeVesseur – a fighter who went 155-0 in college as a wrestler and 296-0 before that in high school. That isn’t MMA though and  “The Prospect” will be walking into this bout against Prater with a 21-6 record overall including a guillotine choke loss to Cody McKenzie in his last bout.

As for the rest of the undercard, there should be some other exciting bouts and fighters to look forward to – including Diego Nunes and Darren Uyenoyama.

Check out the full card below and make sure to tune in tonight for another exciting evening of mixed martial arts action.
