HOUSTON, TX, August 29, 2012 – Kaileb Cummins is on a mission to start his professional career off on the right path.

Recently graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice from San Houston University, that means looking for a job befitting his career but he’s got plans on the sporting side as well.

He’s been fighting as an amateur since September 2009 and has compiled a 3-3 record – more impressive than it seems considering his first two losses came to current pros and his last one to one of the best BJJ brown belts in the state and one of the lead instructors at his academy.

“He came out the better man that night,” Kaileb says about his Legacy Amateur Series 7 title clash against Robert Yamashita. “Win, lose, or draw, the plan was to go pro after that fight.”

Kaileb will now be taking on Patrick Greene in his pro debut at Legacy Fighting Championship 14, scheduled for September 14th in Houston.

“He looks like a very solid guy,” Cummins says, respective of his upcoming opponent’s capabilities. “It’s going to be a fun fight for fans that get there early enough to enjoy this.

As for his preparations, Kaileb believe his recent new after moving back to Houston from Huntsville full-time will carry him through.

“I’ve gotten back to my main camp at Submission Boxing Academy and have also been working with the team at Gracie Barra Texas with Draculino leading the way. We also have added Bobby Flores as my new striking coach. That’s helped me out exponentially.”

Continuing on, Kaileb talks about how he’s branched out even further to get work in with the highest level training partners he can find, including Legacy’s current welterweight champion, Jorge Macaco Patino.

“I also have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to go out to Macaco’s Gold Team and spar with him and Cyborg on the weekends. That in and of itself has been an awesome and an amazing experience. Adding all of the new coaches and training partners and getting such high level sparring and BJJ work has been a blessing to my game. Now I’m just looking forward to more training and fighting.”

With only two weeks to go until fight night, it’ll definitely be interesting to see the gains Kaileb Cummins has made when he takes on Patrick Greene.

“I’d like to thank first and for most Jesus Christ for giving me this opportunity. I’d also like to thank Frank Adame, Bobby Flores, Drac, Macaco, Cyborg and all of my training and sparring partners for getting me ready for this fight. And to anyone out there looking for fighters to sponsor them. I am more the available and would appreciate and welcome any opportunity to help your brand.”
