Sean Spencer wants to be the first ever to defeat Evan Cutts in pivotal Legacy 13 co-main event

DALLAS, TX, August 16, 2012 – AXS TV’s Legacy Fighting Championship 13 is coming up tomorrow night from the Dallas Convention Center at the Europa Sports & Get Fit Expo.

Top to bottom, the card will be an exciting one with many of the Dallas-Fort Worth’s upcoming stars competing on this Legacy Fighting Championship 13 card.

One of them is a young gentleman by the name of Sean “Black Magik” Spencer.

With only three years under him as a professional in this sport, Sean has already compiled himself an 8-1 record and a reputation that have many calling him a “can’t miss” prospect destined for the UFC octagon sooner rather than later.

That’s all good and well but in order to live up to those expectations he’ll have to get past Evan Cutts, another DFW resident with similar blue chip labels attached to him as well.

These two will meet in the co-main event tomorrow night in Dallas for the right to see who gets to further their name at the expense of the other.

Here are Sean Spencer’s thoughts prior to this pivotal fight.

Interview – Sean Spencer

Sean thanks for taking the time to talk to us. How does it feel to be in the co main event of the first Legacy card in Dallas?

Legacy coming to Dallas is HUGE and I am honored and blessed to have the privilege to Co-Main Event their Dallas debut card.

Let’s rewind back a little bit. Tell us about your pro career so far.

My pro Career started in Nashville Tennessee where I defeated Ryan Delorenzo by K.O. Soon after that I moved to Dallas and started training here and my first fight in Dallas was against Chris Spicer who I defeated in the first round, I took out another good opponent when i defeated Jacob Ortiz. I could go on and on. I’ve got a win over Josh Smith, Eric Scallan, Kreg Hartle, Derrick Kranz, Joseph Daily and soon Evan Cutts.

You’ve definitely been around. What’s your fondest MMA memory so far?

I’ve got a ton of great memories but one in particular I recall was in Amarillo when I fought Kreg Hartle. I was with Matt Rossini and Jason Sampson and Matt had this great idea to have Jason and I do a t-shirt toss for the kids who made it to the event we had after weigh ins. One of the kids that caught my shirt brought 3 more of his friends to the fight the next night and we gave them all shirts at the fight and Jason and I signed the shirts for them and took pictures.

Aside from being a fighter, how would you describe the rest of your everyday life?

Aside from being a fighter my life is still very busy. I am a store manager for LoanStar Title Loans Mon-Sat with the exception of Wednesday and I work as hard in my office as I do when I’m in the gym. I always try to make time to relax and spend time with my girlfriend, family and friends too, that’s very important to me.

What’s one thing about you people may find interesting?

Growing up, fighting was one of my biggest fears.

How do you continue to progress as a fighter? What motivates you?

Knowing that I have what it takes to be great in this sport motivates me to keep doing better and better every single day. I love what I do, and when you love what you do, that’s motivation right there. I couldn’t go out there and perform to the best of my ability without the love and support from the fans as well. The fans give me motivation to perform to the best of my ability. This fight is important to me because it’s right in my back yard and I have a lot of support here in Dallas. It also means allot because I know I’m one step closer to achieving the goals that I have set for myself and Evan Cutts is in the way.

How are you approaching this fight with Evan knowing all eyes will be on you?

I feel confident going into this fight as I do every fight. The only thing I try to do different for every fight is add more intensity, train smarter and harder than I did for my last fight and I know that I have done that for this fight.

Evan Cutts is a worthy opponent for sure. I know he is a strong, hungry, and focused fighter with an undefeated record but he has never faced an opponent like me. I’ve done my homework for this fight and I can’t wait to step into the cage on the 17th.

I’ve visualized winning the fight many ways but I’d like to put Evan away in the first round with a vicious knockout.

If you had to give last words to Evan before the fight, what would you tell him?

I would tell him to get used to saying my pro MMA record is 5-1.

Any last words or acknowledgements?
