FORT WORTH, TX, August 16, 2012 – Returning to action tomorrow night in the co-main event of AXS TV’s Legacy Fighting Championship 13 is Fort Worth-based prospect Evan “The Butcher” Cutts.

A teammate of UFC fighter Johnny Bedford, Evan will be taking on another top area prospect in Sean Spencer in a bout that should decide which of the two deserves top billing in Dallas’ competitive welterweight division for the time being.

Truth be told, there’s a lot riding on this fight for both men.

Whit this event airing nationally LIVE from the Europa Sports & Get Fit Expo, one may consider this to be as high-profile a fight as they come in the Dallas area.

With their bout slotted for co-main event status, it’s guaranteed that all eyes will be on Spencer and Cutts to see which one of them has the potential to make it to the highest level of mixed martial arts.

That sure sounds like a lot of pressure but for Evan, it’s just “another day in the office,” so to speak.

He’s been in a familiar situation before and came out the victor. He loves being tested and looks to these type of challenges to bring out the best in him as a fighter. In short, he lives for these moments.

Here’s more of his pre-fight thoughts heading into tomorrow night’s fight in Dallas.

Interview – Evan “The Butcher” Cutts

Evan, how’s it feel to be fighting on Friday?

I’m pumped to be fighting on Legacy 13. Not only is it really close to home but I get to fight in a co-main slot on AXS TV.

Beating Reagan Penn back in November 2011 kind of brought you into the spotlight. How was that experience.

It was awesome getting to fly up to Moline, Illinois on short notice and getting the win. I really think that has to be the biggest break so for my career.

What have you been up to since then?

Well, I took some time off after fighting Reagan Penn. I got called to fight Lee King at legacy 11 and took the fight on short notice. After that fight I fought again about a month later here in DFW for Element Fighting Championships and was blessed with another win.

What about outside the cage? Any other priorities?

I am blessed to teach Mixed Martial Arts at Fitness Fight Factory in Colleyville alongside Rafael Casias and Johnny Bedford. I am married man, and I am happy to have a wife that is so supportive. We are getting ready to send her back to school to be an esthetician.

That’s really cool. What else about you might people find interesting?

I love art, specifically graphic design and street art. I play around a lot in the garage with both. I’m not really super great, but it makes me happy to create something.

Looking ahead to Friday, how do you feel about this co-main event fight?

I feel great about it. I’m excited to fight Sean Spencer. I think he will pull the best performance out of me.

What’s driving you for this fight?

First my testimony that Jesus Christ is lord and savior and only by his sacrifice and Grace can we be redeemed. Secondly my wife, I want to do my best so I can provide for her. Every fight is important but this fight is a huge opportunity to show the world what I can do on national television.

Can you tell us a little bit about how your camp has been for this one?

Every Fighter has to make sacrifices to get ready for a fight, but I feel like this has been the best training camp I have had. I have never really had an 8 week training camp before, and I feel like I am the best fighter I can be at this point of my career. I do not back slide, my boxing, wrestling, and BJJ feel the best they ever had.

Do you have any predictions for how this fight end?

I really want to push the pace in this fight and keep the pressure on Sean. I want to see where his breaking point might be. Let’s make this fight legendary!

Any acknowledgements before the fight?

I would like to say that I am second. Jesus Christ is first, may all the glory go to him. It is through the grace of god that a sinner like me can be redeemed and be made whole through his sacrifice. I would like to thank DOM Fight gear, Sayved Christian Apparel, the IMC (Integrative Medical Center) check them out at myhealthydoctor.com, Randy King Insurance, Wreck 1 Management, and Fitness Fight Factory.

One more thing, if you win, are you going to do the Bernie again?

After my hand is raised, you bet I’m going to Bernie!
