LEGACY 13 – Lior Shporen humble as ever but well-prepared for pro debut against Sean Holden on August 17th

LITTLE ELM, TX, August 9, 2012 – Next in focus for LEGACY 13 is a DFW-based fighter by the name of Lior Shporen. He’ll be stepping into the cage on the local undercard making his pro debut against fellow area resident Sean Holden.

A quiet and humble person by nature, he isn’t the type to go bragging about how he’s a fighter or that he’s stepped into the cage five times as an amateur and has a highlight reel knockout at the Legacy Amateur Series.

That’s just not how he is.

The owner of a restoration/construction company (Floors To Ceiling Restoration) serving the area around his home in Little Elm and the surrounding communities in Dallas, Lior prefers to keep a low profile – focusing inwardly in terms of his work and family life as opposed to putting himself out there too much.

“A lot of people don’t know I’m Israeli and I’ve only been in the states for twelve years,” he told us. “When I’m not training I’m either working or spending time with my wife. That’s pretty much all I do.”

When he is in the gym, he values the interactions he has with those around him above anything else.

“My best memories are actually not the competition or even the fights I’ve won, but the people I’ve met along the way. Each coach and trainer I’ve worked with has been memorable and my teammates make it fun and enjoyable.”

Now getting ready to turn pro at Legacy, Lior knows he’ll have to step it up in terms of the intensity. Though he’s a driven and intense individual by nature, he also knows that fighting in the pro ranks is a far cry from fighting in amateur bouts in Texas and Louisiana but he’s ready to make that leap and make it spectacularly.

“MMA is my passion so that motivates me every day,” he says. “Every fight is important to me and this one is no different. Legacy offered me this opportunity to make my pro debut with them and, that alone, motivates me even more.”

With that in mind, one thing he’s confident in is the work he’s put in to get ready for August 17th.

“I am doing strength and conditioning with Dominic Cure Performance Fitness Training. I train with Saekson Janjira Muay Thai, John Marsella for boxing, and BJJ/wrestling with Chris Brennen of Next Generation MMA. I feel really good; I feel confident and ready. I’m not worried about my opponent, just focusing on what I need to do to get the win. I’m planning to finish the fight in any aspect….stand up or on the ground, I’m well-trained and well-prepared. I’m sure he (Holden) is also feeling good about his own preparation so I’m sure we will put on a great show that everyone will enjoy.”

Fighter Acknowledgements

First of all I want to thank my sweet wife for her unconditional support. I want to thank Dominic Cure, John Marsella, Saekson Janjira and Chris Brennen for their outstanding training and attention. I feel like I have a great team and support system behind me. And of course, thank you to Legacy for the opportunity to participate in such a great event. – Lior Shporen
