HOUSTON, TX, July 29, 2012 – Garcia Promotions put on their tenth event this past Friday night at the Humble Civic Center and it went off in trademark form for Eric Garcia, Jace Pitre, and crew with nothing but excitement in the cage all night long.
Cage Combat 10 featured fifteen fights on the night – the state maximum for number of contests at any given event – including two title fights.
The main event saw Jose Llanas (Team Tooke / Jace Pitre MMA) and James Powell (Fight Science) face off for the GP 170 lbs. title.
The two would play opposites in this bout with Jose using his wrestling to try and gain the upper hand while James would try and score the submission from the bottom. Both were successful in part with the Angleton native and CDM champion James Powell almost pulling off a deep armbar from guard in the first while Jose Llanas would score throughout the three round contest with timely takedowns and top control. Ultimately that is what won Jose the fight and the Garcia Promotions welterweight belt as he improved his record to 2-0.
In the co-main event of the evening, Daniel Delgado (Paradigm) and Carlos Jimenez (4OZ Fight Club) faced off for the second time with the GP bantamweight title on the line.
The two initially fought in July 2011 at Cage Combat 4 with Carlos winning by TKO in the first round but some including thought it was a premature referee stoppage. Looking to end things conclusively, the two would battle for five straight rounds in this one with both fighters having their moments but Jimenez edging it out in the championship rounds to once again beat Delgado and earn the 135 lbs. title.
As for the rest of the bouts, quick results are below along with a comprehensive photo gallery and fight videos from every fight on the card.
