PCG’s Cowboys Extreme Cagefighting – March 10th Results, Recap, and Photo Highlights from San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX, March 11, 2012 – “Wow, there really is a mechanical bull here,” was my initial thought as I arrived to check out Premiere Combat Group’s Cowboys Extreme Cagefighting (CEC) event in San Antonio. Truly, this venue may just be the most “Texan” yet when it comes to just how an outsider would imagine how a local MMA event might be in this state never having been to one before. Forget the mechanical bull and there are other qualities that one can tell makes this place special in order to draw some loyal fans. For one, the place is massive. Aside from the fight area, fans can enjoy the sprawling dance floor, a multitude bars and pool tables, a large upstairs area, and well…. the mechanical bull. And speaking of the fight area, it’s unique in that the action literally takes place in the same pit real life bulls do battle with their cowboy counterparts. The cage rests on top of covered hardened dirt, fighters walk in through the large pen doors, and the crowd watches from every angle, with seating and standing room seemingly everywhere. It was definitely built for Texas MMA.

As for the action, this iteration of Cowboys Extreme Cagefighting featured 10 bouts on the night and it went at a brisk pace with the fights starting shortly after 6PM. All in all, the crowd was treated to a little bit of everything, with submissions and TKO finishes ruling the majority of the card. Below are the quick results and our awards for the evening before some photo highlights from the event.
