MCALLEN, TX, March 4, 2012 – It was a fun-filled night for MMA in the Rio Grande Valley this past Friday night as STFC made its way back to the McAllen Convention Center for STFC 19: Relentless. The event was headlined by a returning Hector Munoz, who won via third-round submission over San Antonio’s Gilbert Jimenez in the main event of the evening.

“I used to live in Rio Grande City before I moved to Corpus Christi and it sure felt good to come home again and fight in front of my family and friends,” Hector told John Cannon of RGV Canvas Warriors after his hard-earned victory. The two would jockey for position on the ground through much of the fight as they looked to earn the tapout. In the end, it was the BJJ black belt Munoz who was able to capitalize on a right hook that brought the Pitbull down to the mat and finish things off with the rear-naked choke. With this win, the BJJ black belt out of FCFA/Paragon now moves to 8-2 overall in MMA.

Speaking of FCFA/Paragon, two other representatives from the Corpus-based team also performed well on the evening in Jimmy “The Brick” Flick and Roger “Silverback” Narvaez. Roger was able to take his record to 2-0 as a professional after defeating hometown favorite Andrew Garza by second round TKO while Flick kept his undefeated pro record intact with a slick by Von Flue choke submission at the 4:06 mark of round 2 over 2011 TXMMA Ironman of the Year Randy Villarreal.

The rest of the fights on the card were no less than exciting 7 out of 8 bouts overall ending before reaching the judges’ scorecards.
