DALLAS, TX, February 9, 2012 – Next up in focus for XKO 14 next weekend is 27 year old Team Takedown fighter Chris Feist. A longtime training partner of Jake Rosholt, Johny Hendricks, and the rest of the crew at Team Takedown, Chris may be a fighter to watch out for if the caliber of his training partners is any indication of what type of performances are in the cards for his own career.

Currently 2-0 in MMA, Chris will be returning to the cage for the third time at XKO 14 against Sean Ward. We recently spoke to him to get his thoughts on this next fight and what he’s looking to do in the near future.

XKO 14 Interview – Chris Feist (Team Takedown)

Chris, thanks for taking the time to talk to us. Can you share a little history about yourself and how you got started in MMA?

I started out helping fighters with their wrestling in Portland then I moved to Las Vegas with Jake Rosholt after I graduated to help him train out there. Right now my goals are to become the best fighter I can be and continue learning and becoming a better person all around. Outside of training, I like to relax, work with my black lab Folsom, and do stuff outdoors – like hunting and fishing.

When did you first decide you wanted to fight also? What’s your schedule like now prior to your fight at XKO 14?

I decided to fight in 07 when I moved to Las Vegas. My schedule during these last few weeks has mostly been about fine tuning aspects of my game and making weight. My team plays a huge role in my preparation. Team Takedown is the best group around. They push me hard but also smartly and they are extremely talented. From my trainers partners to my management team, they’ve got everything covered.

What do you know about your upcoming opponent, Sean Ward?

I really don’t know too much about Sean other then he’s a tough guy who brings the fight.

How about yourself? How are you feeling heading into next weekend and what can fans expect to see from you in your first fight back at Xtreme Knockout since XKO 8?

I feel great headed into this fight. My body is healthy, my mind Is right, and I’m fully prepared. I see myself dictating every aspect of this fight and getting my hand raised when it’s over. I’m always looking to finish the fight. Be on the lookout for a submission.

Do you have anything in mind as far as the next step after Feb. 18th?

I’m looking to stay active and keep piling up wins to make it on the big stage.

Any last words before the fight?

I just want to thank the readers, Team Takedown, The Gym, and my sponsors Pure Fight Gym and Jimmie Johns.
