DALLAS, TX, November 15, 2011 – The North American Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (NABJJ) held their first tournament in the state of Texas with the Lone Star State Jiu Jitsu Championship taking place at the Bob Knight Fieldhouse in Duncanville this past Sunday. With almost 300 competitors showing up to compete, event organizer Sam Aschidamini saw the tournament as a positive sign for the promotion’s future in the Lone State State.

“The NABJJ Federation’s Lone Star State Jiu Jitsu Championship was a huge success,” the Aloisio Silva black belt told TXMMA.com. “This was our first tournament in Texas and our number one goal was to come out and to show what we are capable of.  We believe that we made a big impact in the Jiu Jitsu community and we will be back in Texas in March of 2012.  We want to thank all the competitors, spectators, sponsors and staff members for making the event possible.”
