HOUSTON, TX, November 11, 2011 – We recently caught up with promoter Brett Boyce in advance of the November 19th 2011 Texas Open. While that’s shaping up to be another good one (and another busy day running all over the place) for Brett and partner Seth Daniels next Saturday, it seems that the near future will be even busier with him picking up steam on several new projects heading into next year.

“I just started a new company called Combat Sports Rentals,” Brett mentioned to TXMMA.com. What we want to be is a one-stop-shop aimed at servicing MMA and grappling promoters where you can rent anything from a cage or mats to lighting, sound systems, or anything that has to do with running an MMA event or a tournament. If you’re an MMA or grappling promoter in the United States, we’ll be able to deliver and set up exactly like you’ve seen at Fight to Win, Garcia Promotions, or many other events in the past. We’ll be able to do it all.

Adding to that, Boyce is delving even deeper into the world of crafting tournaments by partnering with Mick Maynard of the Legacy Fighting Championship. Bringing a new twist to his tried-and-true formula of running WGC, Mick and Brett will now aim to bring together an exciting convergence between the MMA and grappling world with the Legacy Grappling Championship.

This new concept will feature a new type of superfight coined “One More Round,” bringing exciting matchups from Legacy FC to the mat and giving fighters the opportunity to compete once again in no-gi submission grappling to see  who’s mat skills reign supreme. “It’s a little something different than your normal, run-of-the-mill superfight,” says Brett.

Based on initial feedback from the community, it’s also something cool that local spectators want to see and he couldn’t be happier.

“I think it’s wonderful, to be able to partner up with another individual that is such a good friend and has such strong standing in the community. I’ve long been a huge fan of Legacy and with Mick being such a good friend of mine, I definitely see this as a great opportunity to extend that partnership. I’ll still be doing all my tournaments together with Seth but these upcoming Legacy Grappling Championship events will be something awesome to do in addition.

“This will help us push things up even more. With Made to Win, WGC, Combat Sports Rentals, and now my new thing with Mick, all I want is to provide my same level of commitment to everyone in this community. I want everyone to know that I may not always be the most corporate person anymore as far as my demeanor or the way I talk after spending years in that environment “kissing ass” so to speak but make no mistake about it, I’m still straight up corporate when it comes to producing results and getting people what they want, expect, and especially what they pay for. It’s going to be fun.”
