FORT WORTH, TX, November 4, 2011 – Tomorrow night in Moline, Illinois, another Texas-based fighter will get his shot at upsetting a famous name for the first time since Lee Higgins battled against Randy’s son Ryan Couture at Strikeforce Challengers earlier this year. This time around, it will be Evan Cutts (2-0) of Fort Worth, TX taking on BJ’s brother Reagan Penn (1-0) in a welterweight matchup on the ProElite II: Big Guns card set for LIVE broadcast on HDNet.

Training alongside current Ultimate Fighter contender “Brutal” Johnny Bedford at the Fitness Fight Factory, the lanky 20 year old Evan has been able to secure a submission win in his first two fights as a pro after an amateur career that saw him go 4-1 with his only loss being to 8-2 Oklahoman Bogie Blunt. Now set to face the biggest fight of his career in only his third fight in, Cutts is looking to make the most out of an opportunity that doesn’t come around this early for most fighters.

“I know I’m blessed to train and do this sport for a living,” Evan mentioned. “I try to see it as a privelege and that makes every opportunity a big one.”

Heading into Saturday night, Evan realizes opportunities at this stage don’t get much bigger than taking on Reagan Penn, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black and a fighter with a lot of eyes watching his every move. As talented as his opponent is, Evan is undeterred and knows that beating him at this point could mean a lot for his career. “I’m excited to show what I can do,” he says about the fight.
