First Two Bouts Announced for September’s ‘Legacy FC 8’ Event; Talavera and Rexroad Return

HOUSTON, TX, July 11, 2011 – With their HDNet debut scheduled for Friday, July 22nd, preparations are fast and furious right now for the Legacy organization as they seek to put the finishing touches on production for Legacy FC 7, an event that will feature UFC veteran Cameron Dollar vs. Carlo Prater, Pete Spratt, Frank Gomez, Chad Robichaux, and more.

Looking ahead, preparations are also well underway for the promotion’s next professional event on September 17th as the first two matchups for Legacy FC 8 were recently released via the organizations website at www.legacyfights.tv.

Making their return on the fall card will be two of the more exciting fighters out of Houston in recent years in Ricardo Talavera and Jeff Rexroad. The two actually made these reputation battling each other in a scintillating ‘Fight of the Night’ performance this past January at Legacy FC 4 that featured non-stop action from both men as they decided to swing for the fences.

Now they’ll be seeking to once again put on a show for Houston’s fight fans on the same card.

For Talavera, also known as “The Hitman,” this Legacy FC 8 bout will mark his first return to Houston since his war with Rexroad and a subsequent move north to Pittsburgh. Making his return to the city, Ricardo will be taking on Rashon “Sho Nuff” Lewis, a former high school and collegiate football star known for raw physical talents and explosive nature in the cage. Training at Paradigm TC along with Rexroad, “Sho-Nuff” will certainly be looking to prove himself the Master in “The Hitman’s” Houston return.

As for Rexroad, the “Super Cop” will be making his own Legacy return against tough-as-nails John Malbrough out of Kingwood MMA. John, also known as “The Maniac,” started his career off with a bang with two straight wins at Legacy before falling to Jonathan Harris and UFC-vet Jake Rosholt in his last two MMA outings. With Jeff Rexroad seeking to continue the momentum of two consecutive wins over Talavera and another young riser in Alex Morono, “The Maniac” will certainly have his hands full as he faces another stiff test.
