A First Look at Legacy FC 7 on HDNet’s Friday Night Fights – Main Card Preview!

Houston, TX, July 5, 2011 – It’s almost that time here in Houston as we are just a little over two weeks away from the HDNet debut of the Legacy Fighting Championship LIVE on Friday Night Fights on July 22nd!

The city is abuzz with excitement for this Legacy card as viewers from all around the nation will finally get to see some of the best Houston has to offer right here in the H with Houston’s flagship MMA promotion. Competing on the televised card will be Houston representatives Carlo Prater (Paradigm), Antonio Flores (Evolution), Chad Robichaux (Gracie Barra), Daniel Pineda (4OZ), Daniel Pineda (4OZ), Angel Huerta (Millenium Martial Arts), and many others, including two UFC veterans and several others with national experience.

The main event of this Legacy FC 7 card will feature longtime Houstonian and current Brasilia, BR resident Carlo “Neo” Prater making his long-awaited homecoming to fight in his adopted hometown. Heading into this one with a two-fight win streak internationally and finishing his last two in under a minute via submission, Carlo will be taking on his biggest challenge yet as he is set to face Cameron “Money Man” Dollar, an Ultimate Fighter season-nine veteran with a five-fight win streak of his own including wins over two fellow-UFC veterans!

Next up on the much-anticipated card will be another UFC-veteran in Pete “The Secret Weapon” Spratt. Making his way down I-10 from San Antonio to fight In Houston, Spratt will  be making what we believe is his ninth appearance for HDNet Fights and this may be his most exciting one yet as he’s set to take on a behemoth Antonio “King Kong” Flores. While national viewers may yet be uninitiated when it comes to Flores, they will come to see what he’s made of on July 22nd. A HUGE welterweight, Flores fights with a single-minded intention to kill-or-be-killed. Don’t blink when this one hits the cage because somebody is sure to get knocked out.

Also making his Legacy return is one of the most popular fighters in Legacy FC history in bantamweight Chad Robichaux. “Robo” was last seen on MTV2 taking Bellator bantamweight champion Zach “Fun Size” Makovsky to a decision before heading back to his training center in the Woodlands. He’ll now look to rebound from that test by taking on a fighter known as “The Mack Attack,” Jonathan Mackles. Also a Bellator-veteran, Jonathan Mackles is said to be an aggressive straight-forward type of fighter who’ll look to bring the action to Robichaux. With both fighters sporting only one career loss each, looking for intensity in this one as both fighters gun for the win.

The rest of the televised card is rounded off by several of Houston’s top up-and-coming fighters in the lighter weight classes.

Making his return after beating three champions in three consecutive bouts, Daniel “Pit” Pineda will take on his biggest challenge yet in Frank Gomez. Making his way from Greg Jackson’s camp in New Mexico to fight at Legacy, Gomez is a WEC-veteran who’s taken on some of the best in the world at featherweight, including Scott Jorgensen and Wagnney Fabiano. Gomez is 2-0 in his last two fights and holds a victory over Houston fighter Tim Snyder as his last W from this past May. Fighting in his hometown, look for Pineda to try and bring that W back to Houston this time around.

Houston’s fans will have even more to look forward to as the local featured undercard boasts six exciting matchups including a rematch of what is thought to be the 2010 Legacy FC Fight of the Year when Rey Trujillo steps into the cage with Jesus Rivera. We’ll go over the rest of the matchups on the undercard in the following days so stay tuned here on TXMMA.com and the promotion’s website at LegacyFights.tv for the most in-depth coverage of Legacy FC 7 on HDNet you’ll see anywhere on the net.
