Report – Antonio “King Kong” Flores Tapped as Replacement to Face Pete Spratt at Legacy FC

HOUSTON, TX, June 12, 2011 – According to manager Brett Boyce, one of his Made to Win fighters has been tapped as the latest replacement for the slot opposite Pete “The Secret Weapon” Spratt at the upcoming Legacy Fighting Championship event slotted for HDNet on  July 22nd after several fighters originally set for the role got the call up to compete for Zuffa’s Strikeforce at their upcoming event in Dallas.

After his last bout this past November, Antonio “King Kong” Flores will was all set to defend his IXFA belt this past April in Winnie, TX against none-other than newly-minted Strikeforce fighter and Legacy’s last 170 titleholder Mike “The Greek’” Bronzoulis prior to that bout being called off due to injury.

Instead, Antonio “King Kong” Flores will enter this Legacy matchup against the UFC veteran Spratt with a 5-2 record and a reputation for being of the strongest strikers locally at welterweight. As mentioned, Antonio already has the pedigree of championship-caliber experience, having beaten 60+ fight veteran Brandon McDowell to win the IXFA belt this past November in a contest that lasted a mere :26 seconds prior to the devastating TKO victory due to strikes.

Now if all goes according to plan, Flores will face San Antonio’s Pete Spratt in a matchup pitting two dangerous strikers against one another on the nationally-televised debut of Legacy Fighting Championship.

As for Spratt, he most recently came out on the short end of a unanimous decision just this past Friday against fellow UFC-veteran Marcus “The Irish Hand Grenade” Davis at the MFC event in Edmonton, Canada which was also broadcast on HDNet. With forty-two fights to his credit, Spratt has taken on the likes of Georges St. Pierre and has beaten “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler earlier in his career.
