HOUSTON, TX, June 9, 2011 – Well it seems like professional welterweight fighters from Houston’s Paradigm Training Center are in high demand recently. It was just announced today that Brian Melancon (5-1) will be joining his long-time teammate Mike Bronzoulis on the Strikeforce: Dallas undercard set for the American Airlines Center next Saturday, June 18th.
“It’s left than ten days out but there no way I could turn down this opportunity,” Brian told us regarding the Strikeforce deal. “Fighting in the UFC has been my dream since I started training in MMA and this fight will be one step closer to getting there.”
Coming off consecutive victories over Derrick Krantz and Todd Moore (also on the Strikeforce: Dallas card), Melancon will be taking on fellow Strikeforce newcomer Isaac Vallie-Flagg (11-3-1), a Greg Jackson/Mike Winkeljohn trained fighter out of the Jackson’s MMA camp in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Vallie-Flagg was last seen taking a fight on short notice himself, stopping Danny Rodriguez of Ottawa Fight Team via TKO at JMMAS4 in New Mexico this past April.
