May 24, 2011 – This Friday, two of Houston’s veteran fighters will get a chance to showcase their skills at Shark Fights 15 as Artenas Young and Tim Snyder make their initial appearance for the Amarillo, TX-based promotion.

The Shark Fights 15 event, set for the Santa Ana Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, is headlined by UFC vet Chris “Kamikaze “ Comozzi (14-4) taking on Strikeforce vet Joey Villaseñor (27-8). The event was originally scheduled to broadcast LIVE on HDNet but reports are indicating that may not be the case with Titan Fighting Championshiops 18 set to air on the network on the same night from Kansas City.

Artenas "Machine Gun" Young

Despite the lack of TV exposure, both Snyder and Young face pivotal tests on this card that will pave the way forward for their respective careers.

In the case of Artenas “Machine Gun” Young (5-3), this could be an opportunity to bounce back from two losses in his last three bouts. He most recently fought at SCR – Steel City Rumble 7, losing by split decision to Jeremy Kimball in Grand Junction, Colorado. Winning this bout versus another very tough opponent could do wonders for the fleet-footed counter-puncher as he looks to right the ship.

Facing him in this fight will be Kyle Bracey (4-1), already a four-fight veteran of the Shark Fights promotion and conqueror of such notables at Nissen Osterneck and Eric “Big Head” Davilla. Based on his record and collegiate wrestling pedigree, Bracey will unequivocally be the largest challenge the oft-talked-about “Machine Gun” Young will have faced thus far in his young career.

Tim "Terminator" Snyder

As for Tim “The Terminator” Snyder (12-7-1), the thirty-year-old fighter has been resurgent in his career as of late. He’ll be looking to continue his upward trajectory after winning his last two bouts and three of his last four overall.

In this fight, Snyder will no doubt be challenged by his opponent Frank Gomez (10-2), a WEC-vet and up-and-coming bantamweight hailing out of the Jackson MMA camp in nearby Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gomez will certainly look to use this fight as a springboard to the UFC while winning this one could also propel Snyder to loftier heights himself. With both men holding a  reputation for being hard-hitting, high-impact fighters, look for this one to be a candidate for ‘Fight of the Night’ honors when all is said and done.
