May 5, 2011 – Congrats to San Antonio’s own “Secret Weapon” Pete Spratt, who was just moved up to main event status against Marcus Davis for the ‘MFC: Up Close and Personal’ event, set to air LIVE on HDNet at 9PM Texas time on June 10, 2011 from the Mayfield Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.

This main event matchup between the two will actually be a Texas-sized rematch, as the two originally locked horns at Houston’s UFC 69 in a fight which was won by “The Irish Hand Grenade” via achilles lock in the second round after he survived some early bombs courtesy of the Secret Weapon.

Fast forward four years later and Spratt should no doubt be looking for revenge with this second crack at Davis via the Maximum Fighting Championship.

Both fighters will walk into this bout with a reputation for being straightforward, explosive strikers always looking for the knockout, so fans can expect surefire action in this one.

“There will be no shortage of fireworks in this fight,” said MFC Owner/President Mark Pavelich in announcing this matchup. “I can’t see anything but explosive excitement happening. This should be an awesome display – one of the best all-out wars the MFC has ever put together.”
