March 1, 2011 – It’s time to get lucky in Kentucky for winning UFC fighters as UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann is set to broadcast on Versus this Thursday from the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville. This cable-televised card will be the very first UFC event to be broadcast in 3D so head to your nearest up-to-date boob tube and get your glasses on!

Also dubbed UFC on Versus 3, this card will also be the first UFC event hosted in the great state of Kentucky. With an up-to-date fight slate featuring some exciting knockout artists including a main event featuring a “Nightmare” versus a “Hitman”, this Versus program will definitely make a run at living up to the KY state motto of “United We Stand, Divided We Fall.”

Speaking of the main event, this card will feature Martin Kampmann taking on Diego Sanchez.  Both fighters are looking to make a run back up the welterweight division but go into this bout on opposite ends of the momentum spectrum. Kampmann is trying to rebound from losing to a cardio-deficient Jake Shields in his last bout while the YES! man Sanchez is coming off a win against Paulo Thiago, who Kampmann also beat.

On the undercard, we’ve got three bouts to look forward to on the televised portion of this UFC Versus event.

The first features a clash of premier wrestling pedigrees as former Oklahoma State All-American Mark Munoz takes on Arizona State former All-American C.B. Dolloway. Fresh off a three-fight win streak, Dolloway may look to exact a measure of revenge over the Filipino, Munoz, who heads into this bout high off a win over Dolloway’s longtime teammate, Aaron Simpson. For his part, the “Philippine Wrecking Machine” should also have high motivations of his own to win this bout, as a rumored future international “Ultimate Fighter” set in his home country of the Philippines would be needing a coach.

Also on the card is “Legionarius,” Alessio Sakara, who makes his long-awaited return since KO’ing James Irvin way back in March of last year. He takes on 4-0 newcomer Chris Weidman, a two-time NCAA Division I All-American wrestler (Hofstra) from New York who’s been making bones fighting in Atlantic City’s Ring of Combat promotion.

Rounding off the televised card is a bantamweight tilt between highly-regarded contender Brian Bowles taking on the always-dangerous Damacio Page. Both fighters are coming off a loss here so watch out for the winner of this one as the one to emerge as a possible future contender to current division champion, Dominic Cruz.

Don’t miss MMA’s version of the “Clash of the Titans” in 3D (minus the Gods, unless you count Dana White and the KFC’s Colonel among them). Set your television screens to the Versus Network at 8pm TEXAS time this coming Thursday to catch this card in all its tri-dimensional glory.
