Houston Fighters on Shark Fights 14 Card: Mike “The Greek” Bronzoulis talks about his Fight with Todd “Maniac” Moore

Mike "The Greek" Bronzoulis

February 24, 2011 – As previously published here on TXMMA.com, the Texas-based Shark Fights promotion returns to Lubbock with Shark Fights 14 on March 11th. Headlined by a bout featuring Matt Horwich taking on Danillo Villefort, the promotion’s first event of their 2011 campaign is still taking shape but will feature fighters from Texas and around the nation. The promotion has also teased that this event will  be  broadcast nationwide  and that a network deal (speculated to be  with HDNet) is imminent.

One fight in particular scheduled for Shark Fights 14 should be of great interest to Houston fans as Mike “The Greek” Bronzoulis of Paradigm will be taking on Todd “Maniac” Moore of Gracie Barra in a welterweight clash. With this bout potentially being broadcast around the nation, a lot could be at stake in this bout besides city bragging rights as both these gentlemen look to make the climb up beyond fighting in regional promotions.

In the case of Mke Bronzoulis, he has been on a tear as of late, winning his last three fights in a row and holding the stature of defending Legacy welterweight champion. He was initially rumored to take on the main event fighter Danillo’s brother, Yuri Villefort, but will have to settle for Moore instead on his way up the national ranks.

As for his opponent, Todd  Moore is also looking to climb the ladder nationally and should be well-prepared for this challenge. Like his opponent, Moore is known for a strong wrestling background but was also recently promoted to the rank of BJJ Black Belt by Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhães and Octavio “Ratinho” Couto.

All in all, fans should expect a Texas-size showdown from these two Houston-area representatives as they do battle on March 11th.

Speaking of Houston area fighters, also on the Shark Fights 14 card is Alex Cisne (5-1) of GB Westside MMA who will be taking on West Texas native Eric “Big Head” Davila. The highly-touted San Shou expert takes this bout as a precursor to another tough matchup in April, at Legacy, where he will do battle with another tough Texan in Cleburn Walker. With a busy fight schedule ahead for Cisne starting with this Shark Fights bout, this could prove to be a breakout year for the Westside MMA instructor.
