Hello Everyone, just wanted to let you know that TXMMA is migrating to a new and much faster web hosting service today. As a sign of growth, TXMMA does many times the amount of traffic today that it did several years ago – more than the current hosting can handle. The migration was complete last night and we are waiting for the nameserver change to propagate. Like many I have not been pleased with the slow speeds and timeouts of the website due to the traffic levels being too high for the current hosting plan. Moreover even upgrading the hosting plan would not be effective given that the former host company does not have good speed in general and was located in California.
Our new web host is both faster and more reliable, and we will be using a virtual private server located at the very solid Colo4dallas facility (colo4dallas.com) on the outskirts of the Dallas Metroplex. I wanted to move hosting to an enterprise-class facility within Texas, so that users get the best speeds possible. My apologies for the slow and frustrating speeds at times with the site. Please excuse some temporary weirdness over the next 24 hours as the nameserver changes propagate over the Internet. Speed upgrades are part of the good changes still to come.
