BVMMA and Apex Predator Fightwear are proud to bring you the Brazos Throwdown Grappling Classic. We are bringing the round robin tournament format to the Brazos Center in Bryan, Texas on February 27th, 2010.
The much larger venue will feature more than twice the grappling rings, (due to the growing popularity of this format and rule set) and a collection of health and fitness exhibition tables for vendors in the industry. (supplements retailers, trainers, etc)
A takedown derby will be held midday, with trophies awarded to the victors.
The submission grappling format is round robin, with grapplers in groups of up to ten or so. Matches will be submission only. No position points. This has proved to be a “push the action” format that doubles as an endurance contest, with most grapplers wrestling 6-8 matches in their groups.
weight classes are: 155, 170, 185, 205, and Heavy.
experience divisions are: 0-6 months, 6-18 months, and 19+ months.
Champion Belts will be awarded in the 19+ months divisions, and medals awarded in the lesser experience levels.
Entry Fees are $30 preregistration, or $35 at the door. Online registration is at www.brazosthrowdown.com
Spectator fee is $5 per person. Weigh ins are from 8:30am to 9:30am Rules meeting at 10 am and competition to immediately follow.
