Corkran\\\’s BJJ & MMA In Flower Mound TX Early 2007
It\\\’s official, Tery Corkran\\\’s BJJ & MMA will be moving about 2 miles West from Lewisville to Flower Mound early 2007. Tery Corkran got his BJJ Black Belt from Carlos Machado in 2002. Corkran was one of the first Carlos Machado students (a Brown belt at that time), to win a Pan American BJJ Gold Medal. Tery Corkran has been teaching martial arts for almost 20 years, starting his teaching at University of North Texas.
Corkran has been in open in Lewisville for 8 years now, but it is time to expand. The new location is on RD 2499 near 3040 (Round Grove Rd) intersection in Flower Mound. Corkran was raised in Flower Mound, graduated from Lewisville High, and is still proud to call Flower Mound home. The new school will be even larger than the current one and its centralized location should make easier access for most of his current and new students, especially for DFW, Denton, and UNT students.
The Academy of BJJ teaches a full curriculum of BJJ, MMA, and Muay Thai to children and adults, with one of the most successful children\\\’s BJJ program in the Metroplex. With a Steel Cage, Boxing ring, heavy bags, mat space, and free weight this is a complete gym. Classes start at ages 3 and up with separate classes for adults and children. Corkran was also one of the first to have a MMA school in the Metroplex (this was founded in 1998). The Academy is proud to have one of the most successful MMA team records in Texas.
