The Texas Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Association, Inc. (TAMMA) has received approval from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. \\"This marks the first time a Statewide Sanctioning body has been set up for Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Competition in Texas. We are excited about the future of amateur competition here. This is a milestone that marks months of work by several individuals across the state,\\" said TAMMA President, Chip Thornsburg. He continued, \\"We have several events in the planning stages and some pretty amazing announcements coming up. The support we have recieved from National Organizations, Equipment Suppliers, and Promoters has been Phenomenal.\\"
The first TAMMA sanctioned MMA event is scheduled for Saturday October 7th as part of the Forney Fight Nights.
