For anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, Dana White announced the entire line-up for UFC 52 at the post-fight press conference. UFC 52 will take place on Saturday, April 16th on pay-per-view with the following eight fights:
-Randy Couture vs. Chuck Liddell
-Matt Hughes vs. Frank Trigg
-Matt Lindland vs. Travis Lutter
-Georges St. Pierre vs. Jason Miller
-Lee Murray vs. Patrick Cote
-Mike Van Arsdale vs. John Marsh
-Renato “Babalu” Sobral vs. Travis Wiuff
-Trevor Prangley vs. Ivan Salaverry
Other notes:
-The April 9th live special on Spike TV will feature the light-heavyweight finals and middleweight finals from the reality show, and “another UFC fight,” as Dana White put it. That wording would seem to imply “one more fight,” and it is believed that it COULD be Ken Shamrock vs. Rich Franklin at 205 pounds (though White didn’t say that at the post-fight press conference).
-When asked about the possibility of a fight between Evan Tanner and Matt Lindland, Dana White said that it’s a strong possibility, and that Lindland would probably get a title shot if he wins one more UFC fight.
-When asked if he expects Frank Mir to fight on the UFC card in Japan later this year, White said that UFC Japan is in June, and he doesn’t expect Frank Mir to be recovered in time to fight on the June card due to the severity of his injuries.
