Bushi Ban International World Headquarters in Pasadena will host the Dungal Fighting World Championship Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005.

Fighters have been preparing for months, some for years to enter in the tournament that could give them world recognition.

“Fighters such as Ultimate Fighting Champion Yves Edwards, Rich ‘No Love’ Clementi, Pride Fighter Shannon ‘The Cannon’ Ritch, Renegades Extreme Fighting’s Saul Soliz and many more international fighters all began at this Dungal Fighting World Championship Tournament,” said Bushi Ban International Founder Grand Master Zulfi Ahmed.

Dungal U.S.A is the longest running, consistent grappling, and mixed martial arts tournament in Texas and possibly the United States.

Grand Master Ahmed, native of Pakistan introduced Dungal to the U.S. 10 years ago at Bushi Ban International World Headquarters in Deer Park. Now Bushi Ban International will continue to host the world renowned tournament in its new facilities at 7770 Spencer Hwy.

Dungal is an Indian/Pakistani term for a wrestling/grappling tournament. “The Dungal is a thousand year old tradition, and this tournament is perfect in promoting the mixed martial arts movement,” Master Ahmed said.

Fighters will have the chance at two world titles and $5,000 in expense prize money. The annual tournament also includes Amateur Vala Tudo (free fighting) for novice, advanced and professional fighters.

“This is one of the most successful, respected and prestigious tournaments in the U.S., not because of quantity, but because of the quality of fighters the tournament draws,” noted Master Ahmed.

Fighters from all backgrounds and from all over the world are invited to enter the Dungal Fighting World Championship Tournament.
