Got a call from Greg Alvarez at the TX Dept. of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) today, to tell me about the proposed Combative Sports ruleset being posted to the TDLR site, and to let everyone here know about it. The new rules include Muay Thai and closed-fist MMA. Take a look at the new rules, the TDLR wants to see if anyone has any concerns, questions, objections, etc. But I think this is the part that people will like: “(1) If both contestants wear gloves, closed fist punching and frontal palm/heel strikes are permitted.”
