Today, in Chicago, after 1 week training 3Xs per day with Carlson Gracie, Joao Crus, head instructor of Carlson Gracie Headquarters in Dripping Springs, was awarded the highly coveted purple belt by none other than Carlson Gracie himself.
Joao has trained with a who’s who of Jiu-Jitsu greats over the years and his proud to be a student of the best, Carlson Gracie
For those of you that don’t know, Carlson is the eldest son of the founder of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Carlos Gracie. Carlson was the Gracie family jiu-jitsu and vale tudo champion 25 years before Rickson.
Carlson has instructed scores of students to victory including the legendary Murillo Bustamante, Wallid Ismael, and Vitor Belfort.
