(just reposting info posted on the Underground) – There will be a women’s open mat on Saturday July 12 from 3-5pm at Travis Lutter BJJ in Ft Worth/Haltom City.
This is an opportunity for women to roll and/or drill grappling techniques with other women. This event is being organized to address the fact that many women often do not get the opportunity to roll or practice techniques with other people their size and strength level. This is a friendly and informal practice session only: no formal instruction is provided, and this is not a tournament or competition. It is open to women from any school and of any experience level, although I anticipate that most of the women present will probably be white belts. Cost is $1. Bring your gi and a positive attitude. Teen girls who are mature enough to participate without needing someone to babysit them are also welcome, but require a parent to sign the event waiver.
